Police Business Manager

Description

The City of San Leandro, CA is seeking an innovative Police Business Manager.  The ideal candidate will have a breadth of knowledge and experience developing and managing departmental budgets; negotiating, awarding, and managing consultant contracts for various programs and projects within the Police Department, ensuring completion within established timelines and budgets; and performing financial analysis and the production of reports and presentations to diverse audiences, including various Boards and Commissions.  The successful candidate will possess an understanding of law enforcement activities, policies, and emerging products and trends and be able to analyze and recommend changes in procedures based on applicability to City needs.  The Police Business Manager must be a creative problem solver who is committed to communicating effectively and cultivating successful working relationships with others including City officials, staff at all levels, and members of the public. 

Requirements

Education and Experience Guidelines:  Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field and four years of progressively responsible professional level financial services or administrative experience which includes grant and budget management; preferably in a governmental or public agency setting.

Salary Range:  $9,964.00 - $12,109.00/month
