Position Overview:

ecoATM is seeking an ethical, motivated, self-starting, and hard-working individual to act as a liaison between the Company and law enforcement departments throughout the country of Japan. The selected individual will travel to and meet with law enforcement and government officials to educate them regarding ecoATM, develop support for the adoption of regulatory rules which recognise automated kiosk technology and practices, and address their questions and concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

    Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement departments in the country of Japan focused on:

        o Building acceptance and adoption of ecoATM

        o Building partnerships to support both ecoATM and law enforcement initiatives

        o Educating law enforcement regarding ecoATM and addressing questions and concerns

        o Researching applicable national and/or regional laws, codes, by-laws or mandates and maintain current knowledge of business implications

    Developing support from law enforcement and government officials for the adoption of regulatory rules which recognize automated kiosk technology and practices

    Responding to law enforcement assistance requests in a timely manner

       o Coordinating with internal teams and recommend programmatic changes within ecoATM to improve relationships and support of related law enforcement activities


Education & Experience

    Significant law enforcement experience with a Japanese law enforcement agency at a command level

    Experience with and/or an understanding of secondhand dealer laws preferred.

    Experience testifying before local and/or state level governing bodies

    Experience testifying in court settings, e.g., motion to suppress hearings, preliminary hearings and jury trials

    A member in good standing of nation level professional law enforcement associations such as the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA), FBI National Executive Institute Associates (FBI NEIA), FBI – LEEDA, International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), or other similar law enforcement associations within Japan.

    Current or prior service on committees or executive boards of the aforementioned law enforcement associations are preferred.

    English language fluency

    Japanese language fluency

    Ability to read & write in English

    Ability to read & write in Japanese 

    Strong moral and ethical principles

    Ability to influence, negotiate and persuade

    Ability to handle conflict smoothly and solution-focused

    Excellent judgment and analytical skills

    Effective written and oral communication skills

    Ability to positively influence the organization to make the right decisions from within

    Proven ability to work with and support a team of seasoned law enforcement executives
