The Cayuga Nation Police Department is a tribal law enforcement agency established by the Nation’s sovereign government to protect its citizens, property, customers, and guests. The agency’s patrol area is the 64,015 acre federally recognized reservation spanning portions of Cayuga and Seneca Counties in Central New York State. Nation Police Officers conduct routine police patrol duties and complete initial training, certification and continuing education analogous to any other law enforcement agency in the United States. The Cayuga Nation Police Department was established in 2017, and subsequently recognized by the United States Departments of Interior and Justice.
