Company History

Auburn, CA was founded in 1849 during the California Gold Rush. Initially known as North Fork Dry Diggings, the town's name was changed to Auburn in honor of its founders' hometown in New York. Its strategic location in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada made it a popular stop for miners traveling to and from the gold fields.

Auburn quickly grew into a bustling mining town, serving as the county seat of Placer County. As the gold rush era waned, the town diversified its economy, focusing on agriculture, ranching, and tourism. Emerging from the Gold Rush Era as the County Seat of Placer County, Auburn serves as a regional economic hub and a popular destination for visitors and businesses alike. It is home to the Auburn State Recreation Area and has become known as the ''Endurance Capital of the World".
