The City of Lebanon is located in Linn County, at the base of the beautiful Oregon Cascade Mountains. Strategically positioned at the junction of U.S. Highway 20, (Santiam Highway) and Oregon Highway 34, Lebanon is 8 miles east of Interstate 5, 90 miles south of Portland, 45 miles north of Eugene, and 70 miles east of the Oregon Coast. Lebanon is a growing, vibrant city that offers its citizens a variety of cultural and sports activities, yet still maintains a small town, with a neighborly atmosphere.
A City of 15,000, Lebanon is a growing community with a diversified economic base. The City of Lebanon has the Council-Manager form of government. The City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the City and is responsible for carrying out the policies and priorities of the elected Mayor and City Councilors. The City of Lebanon is divided into three wards (precincts) with two councilors in each and elected in alternating even years. The Mayor is elected by the entire city and serves as the chairperson at all City Council meetings and appoints all members of the City's commissions and boards.
