The Glendale Police Department is comprised of 23 full time sworn officers, 13 civilian employees and 8 volunteer victim advocates. Special duty assignments include motorcycle patrol, bicycle patrol, advanced accident investigation, FTO, criminal investigations, instructors for firearms, defensive tactics and EVOC.
The Glendale Police Department embraces the best of both modern and traditional policing. While constantly reviewing the latest developments in police science, the traditional value of community involvement is truly the cornerstone of policing in Glendale.

The department outfits officers with state-of-the-art equipment such as digital radios, laptop mobile data computers and CAD/RMS. Advanced training is encouraged and promoted by the department to enhance an officer’s skill level and professionalism.

The City of Glendale is approximately 1 square mile in size and home to over 4,000 permanent residents. The population swells to over 40,000, with many people coming here to work, shop, and enjoy the recreational amenities that the city has to offer. The City recently completed construction on an International rugby facility and an 8,200 event center.

This is a high-density community, with nearly 100 percent of the population living in multifamily housing. Over 90 percent of residents are renters occupying the City's more than 2,000 apartments. The remaining residents own the 300-plus condominium and townhouse units in the City. Glendale is the kind of community where it's easy to get to know your neighbors.

A true "urban village," Glendale has an ethnically diverse population. The 2000 Census reported that 47.6 percent of residents were either Hispanic or non-white. Glendale contains 27 percent Hispanic residents, 10 percent Black residents, 6 percent Asian residents, and 16 percent other racial minorities. In addition, a relatively large proportion of Glendale residents are immigrants from the former Soviet Union and surrounding East European countries. 19 different languages are spoken here.

Company History

Located in Arapahoe County, Glendale is completely surrounded by the City and County of Denver. First used as a stage coach stop on the way to Denver, along the Cherry Creek Trail in the 1800’s, Glendale has become a city with a rich tradition of hospitality, vitality and amenities for residents and visitors alike.
