Company Overview

The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is one of the largest departments in the state with nearly 11,000 employees. We operate 27 institutions, including Baltimore City's pre-trial facility, as well as 45 Parole and Probation offices throughout the state. Our primary objective is to ensure safety so that all Marylander's can enjoy living and working in the state. We work with partner agencies to share important intelligence information in order to reduce crime and violence. This work is inclusive of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions (PCTC).

The mission of PCTC is to ensure the quality of law enforcement and correctional services through the establishment and enforcement of standards and the facilitation and delivery of training, education and prevention programs. Its value derives from providing our customers with quality service, enhanced partnerships, problem-solving strategies and the support necessary for the prevention of crime and reduction of fear of crime. The Commissions foster and maintain ethics and integrity, encourage continuous learning, and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
