The Town of Saltville, pop 2,200, is located in southwest Virginia in the mountains, yet 10 miles from Interstate 81. The town is the site of much history, ranging from whooly mammoths to Civil War battles. The Police Department currently consists of 7 full time Officers, including the Chief and Asst. Chief, plus 2 Auxiliary Officers and 1 part time Officer.
