The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state public agency operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the New York / New Jersey region. These include America's busiest airport system, marine terminals, the PATH rapid transit system, six tunnels and bridges between New York and New Jersey, the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, and the World Trade Center.

Company History

In 1921, the states of New York and New Jersey received consent from Congress to form an interstate agency to develop and modernize the entire port district in order to improved commerce and trade. The port district centers around New York Harbor, and includes 1,500 square miles from both states.
