Company Overview
The Front Royal Police Department provides professional law enforcement services to the citizens of the Town of Front Royal. These services are provided around the clock 365 days a year with a staff of approximately 50 dedicated men and women, including 37 sworn law enforcement officers. Each year, they respond to approximately 20,000 incidents, including traffic stops, and conduct approximately 1,500 criminal arrests and 5,500 traffic arrests. Our Dispatch Division handles approximately 46,000 routine telephone calls and approximately 1900 emergency 911 calls in addition to routine police radio traffic. The Front Royal Police Department’s Community Relations Division coordinates 14 Neighborhood Watch programs, in addition to many other crime prevention and community programs. The Police Department also utilizes volunteers from the community in its “Volunteers In Community Policing (V.I.P.S.)” program.
The approved Fiscal Year 2011-2012 budget for the Police Department is $3,666,722.
Company History
Our present Chief of Police will be retiring in September 2012 after thirty years of service to the Town and having served as Chief of Police since April 2009.
