Description
Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to join our Safety, Security & Law Enforcement department. In this role, you will provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff across our Texas hospitals and clinics. Responsibilities include patrolling facilities, responding to emergencies, enforcing laws and hospital policies, conducting investigations, and collaborating with clinical teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, compassion, and accountability, and excels in a collaborative, inclusive setting. Prior law enforcement experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to community-focused service are essential.Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter and detect unsafe or unlawful activity
Respond promptly to calls for service, disturbances, and security or safety concerns within the facility
Enforce applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies while demonstrating integrity and professionalism
Assist the emergency department and other clinical areas with high-risk situations, patient and visitor management, and safety support
Conduct preliminary investigations of incidents such as theft, disorderly conduct, or property damage, and preserve evidence as appropriate
Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident and activity reports using established documentation standards
Monitor access control systems, secure restricted areas, and support visitor and employee identification procedures
Use de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention skills to resolve conflicts with minimal use of force
Participate in emergency response, including codes and drills, evacuations, and disaster preparedness activities
Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed to support patient, staff, and visitor safety
Maintain required certifications, firearms qualifications, and participate in ongoing training related to hospital security and law enforcement
Provide escorts for patients, visitors, staff, and high-value assets as needed, ensuring a safe and respectful environment

Firearms qualification in accordance with state and organizational standards
Previous law enforcement, military police, or armed hospital security experience preferred
